Imjimia Cadre was a group of dedicated brothers and sisters who followed the lead of Col. Kwesi assisted by Capt. "Papa Doc" Karega.  Because of Col. Kwesi's brilliant leadership by example method we accomplished the work of people far outnumbering us and with far greater machines and equipment.  We not only loved the Nation that we were working for, but we also loved Col. Kwesi, so everything we did was a work of love. 

Some members in the cadre were:  Brothers Ade, Alimu, Amir, Changa, Gaidi, Kehinde, Hodari,  Ilisi, Kala Taha, Kambui, Karamo, Karega, Kofi, Kwame, Macharia, Nkene, Okemwa, Seve; and Sisters Assata, Kache and Omowale.  Some of Col. Kwesi's proteges were:  Kanye Monroe and Zizwe Hackel, who began working with him while they were still children. 




ODE TO KWESI

Colonel Kwesi was a great man,
He never said goodbye.
Just said, "I'll see you later."
But, we never thought he'd die!

He brought Imjimia together,
Men and women in a troop.
As mismatched as they could be.
But he made us into a group.

He was much more than a leader,
He was our very best friend.
And we all knew he loved us.
And we loved him to the end.

So, live on Colonel Kwesi.
Because no one ever dies,
In African Society,
When you're remembered you're alive.

And we will never forget you.
Not as long as we have breath.
And we know we'll meet again,
Because life goes on after death.

And as sure as Colonel Kwesi
Is your mighty name.
We say rest in peace my glorious brother,
'Til we meet again.
